Dear Representative:
As one of your constituents, I am writing to urge you to do everything within your power to support Hope for children foundation Inc. (An educational foundation in science, technology, engineering and math) . Our country’s future depends on it.
Alarm bells are ringing all around us:
25 years ago, the U.S. led the world in high school and college graduation rates. Today, we have dropped to 20th and 16th.
Not only that, American students have fallen to 19th in math and 14th in science in the rankings by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
The International Monetary Fund estimates that in only five years, China’s economy will surpass America.
If we are to remain competitive, we’ve got to do better.
If our economy is to recover, we must do better.
As you probably know, the unemployment figures are twice as high for workers with only a high school diploma as workers who have a college degree. We must make sure the next generation has the tools to compete. And according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 50% of the fastest growing jobs in the next decade will require substantial math and science preparation.
Your leadership is absolutely essential to put math and science education at the top of the agenda.
I would not be writing if I were not concerned as a citizen and taxpayer. I hope you will do all you can to support this education foundation.
We are not asking for monetary donation.this serves as an introductory letter.In the near future we will contact you for help and support. Especially, in the procurement of science, math and technology aids in our efforts to inform our
Students and bring science, math and technology to our schools and community.
